In honor of Black History and National Awareness month, Collaboration LAB will feature the neo-expressionist artist Jean-Michel Basquiat, what inspired his art and the continuing relevance of his work, as we also share works from local creatives on February 26 at Tamraloo Studios in Lincoln, CA. Also included will be a drawing for $100 worth of prizes from local businesses of those who register via Eventbrite.com and attend Collaboration LAB.

The family of Jean-Michel Basquiat has announced the King Pleasure Emporium to open alongside the Jean-Michel Basquiat: King Pleasure© exhibition on the ground floor of RXR’s landmark Starrett-Lehigh building in West Chelsea. The emporium is completely open to the public and will feature apparel, athletic wear, leather goods, stationary, pet accessories, housewares, and more.

Alan D. Marks and Barbara Marks have announced the development of the Broadway bound original musical inspired by the life and art of Jean-Michel Basquiat. Jon Batiste ("The Late Show with Stephen Colbert") has written the music & lyrics and Tony Award Winner John Doyle will direct. The development team is working closely with the Basquiat Estate and have secured the rights to Jean-Michel's art work and personal archives.
