Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation (SDCF), the not-for-profit foundation of Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC), today announced SDC Member, and Tony Award winner David Hyde Pierce will host the 2019 "Mr. Abbott" Award Gala on March 25 at the French Institute Alliance Francaise (FIAF). For the second year and in collaboration with the American Theatre Wing, the Arts Endowment is calling for applications from high school students to the agency's Musical Theater Songwriting Challenge. Today in The Bronx at P.S. 72X, leading NYC arts education nonprofit Inside Broadway (Executive Director, Michael Presser) begins its city-wide school tour of The Gershwins' Real Magic, a new musical they developed with The Estate of George & Ira Gershwin and Tams-Witmark, a Concord Theatricals Company Music Library. BroadwayWorld has confirmed that the Diane Paulus directed musical, Jagged Little Pill, will come to Broadway this fall following an out of town tryout at Cambridge's American Repertory Theatre and an additional lab in NYC this fall.
