Due to an increase in COVID-19 cases and in response to the City of Milwaukee's Public Health Order establishing Phase 4.2 of the Moving Milwaukee Forward Safely Plan, Milwaukee Rep has cancelled all live performances of Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol  set to begin December 1.

Milwaukee Rep will welcome audiences back to its theaters that are socially distanced and revamped for the safety of everyone with a special 45th anniversary production of Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol starring Lee E. Ernst in the Quadracci Powerhouse December 1 a?" 24, 2020. 

Milwaukee Rep has successfully collaborated with Actors' Equity Association, the International Association of Theatrical Stage Employees, United Scenic Artists and Stage Directors & Choreographers Society to develop safety protocols that will enable live performances to begin again on December 1, 2020 for Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol.

Milwaukee Repertory Theater is introducing the new REPlay series, a live online discussion with Artistic Director Mark Clements about his favorite productions over the last ten years. Each discussion will feature actors and creative team members that brought the shows to life onstage.

Milwaukee Rep has announced the first-ever virtual Curtain Call Ball on Friday, October 16 at 7pm CST. Due to the increasingly complex challenges of COVID-19, Milwaukee Rep will delay the start of the 2020/21 Season to increase the likelihood of producing an entire season of 12 shows in theaters that are well prepared to welcome audiences back safely.

Both families are teaming up to match dollar for dollar every new or increased gift up to $50,000 providing support to Milwaukee Repertory Theater's terrific and talented artists that have been impacted by COVID-19.

With no sets to build and no costumes to construct, Milwaukee Rep has partnered with First Stage and Milwaukee Ballet to leverage resources to make masks and face shields for frontline workers at Children's Hospital, Froedert and the Medical College of Wisconsin.  To date the organizations have donated over 10,000 pieces of PPE with weekly deliveries ongoing thanks in part to funding from the Northwestern Mutual Foundation.

Milwaukee Rep will present the world premiere of  Antonio's Song / I Was Dreaming of a Son by Pulitzer Prize finalist Dael Orlandersmith and Antonio Edwards Suarez for a limited two week run in the Stiemke Studio March 24 - April 5, 2020. Antonio's Song / I Was Dreaming Of A Son features Antonio Edwards Suarez (The Night is a Child, Milwaukee Rep) in a personal solo/movement drama that explores the sins of our fathers and mothers as well as the gifts they bestow upon us in a poetic journey that will question/challenge the legacy of stereotypes.

Milwaukee Rep is pleased to welcome back Lee E. Ernst as Ebenezer Scrooge in the 45th Anniversary production of A Christmas Carol at the historic Pabst Theater November 24 a?" December 24, 2020.  

Milwaukee Rep has announced the complete cast and creative teams for the final productions of the 2019/20 Season including the world premiere Antonio's Song / I Was Dreaming of a Son by Pulitzer Prize finalist Dael Orlandersmith and Antonio Edwards Suarez in the Stiemke Studio March 24 - April 5, 2020; the world premiere event Hootenanny: The Musicale by celebrated musician David Lutken in the Stackner Cabaret March 27 - May 24, 2020; and the telenovela of passion and deception Destiny of Desire by Karen Zacarías in the Quadracci Powerhouse April 21 - May 17, 2020.

Milwaukee Repertory Theater, the largest performing arts organization in the state of Wisconsin, announces the launch of a new brand featuring a redesigned logo, website and hashtag #WeRepMilwaukee to support a newly adopted strategic plan.  These modifications come at a time when the growth trajectory of Milwaukee Rep has motivated Artistic Director Mark Clements, Executive Director Chad Bauman and the Board of Trustees to examine the position of the theater as a vital agent of positive change in Milwaukee and beyond.
